Lokella is a hardcore rock band from Grand Rapids, Michigan featuring Jennifer and Evan Bartlett (Both formerly of Fine Fine Titans, Jen Bartlett also formerly fronting Their Teeth Will Be Of Lions), Chris Bursley (formerly of Romance for Ransom), and Josh Poel.

The members' previous projects were influential in forming the group, Jen Bartlett told Substream Magazine.

"Lokella came about when four individuals were feeling the woes of a grueling industry that we had just barely scratched the surface of. We had all spent years working with various people in assorted bands and at the end of the day, trying to make everyone happy started to take a major toll on each of us. We wanted to get back to making art for the sake of art; no holds, no barriers, no expectations. The songwriting happened quickly and organically in our basement and because we kept it all quiet, we had no pressure to produce." ― Jennifer Bartlett[[source]]

Lokella released its debut EP, "The Worst Of" in 2016. Alongside the audio version of the album, the band released a short-film version produced by Three Goats Moving Pictures, referred to as a "visual EP." The album was self recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered -- with the exception of drums recorded by Christian Kremo at Cold War Studios.

"we knew that we wanted to release this in a visual format because it brings so much life to the story and who we are as people. We wanted to solidify a connection to the listener, to the viewer." ― Jennifer Bartlett[[source]]

The band also released a music video for the album's single, "Losing Sheep."

The band released a music video for each of the album's singles, "March of the Empath" and "Keep Quiet."
